Can you make money on Youtube?
The answer is definitely yes.
The problem is in the how. 😏
Youtube is extremely popular and everyone is using it for entertainment, education and to make money.
In fact, I can’t get my kids off it and they talk about these Youtube stars constantly and the things they are doing.
There are a few ways to make money on Youtube.
The first one that everyone thinks of is that you create a video and upload it, and it becomes viral.
What you may not realize is that you aren’t getting paid for the view.
You get paid for people watching and clicking the ad that plays before they watch your video.
This can still pay well, but there’s a big misconception about video views and income on Youtube.
If that is your approach, you want to target keywords on your video that relate to what ads you want showing before your video.
Even smarter is to target keywords in that niche that have a high CPC (cost per click). That means that advertisers are spending more money to be on your video and you make more.
Other lesser known ways to make money posting free videos online:
Create a video that gives some valuable content and points to an offer somewhere that is a product or service your company is selling or another company that will pay you a commission if the viewer buys something.
For example, lets say you make a video that shows how to make a paper airplane that flies for like ten seconds or something.
Then, at the end of the video, you tell the viewer that he or she can buy your book showing all these cool paper airplane tutorials.
(If you make millions selling paper airplane books online send me a gift card to Cheesecake Factory for the idea)
If people love your video, they might buy from you.
If you get a lot of views, this could be a substantial payday!
What kind of videos work?
That depends on who you ask.
Some say that well put together productions are better and some say raw phone taped videos that seem more real work better.
I don’t really know, but you will have to test it out to see.
Youtube is owned by Google and the same SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tactics work for Youtube that work on Google.
There is a skill and process to getting people to your video using SEO, social bookmarking, and video embeds.
I’m not going to get into all that here, but if you are serious, you should buy a program explaining how this works.
I recommend Benjamin Jacques’ “Video Ranking Club”
He is the best I have seen and his program provides a lot more value than what he’s charging.
