It was amazing how fast my entire physiology changed in an instant.
I felt hopeful and optimistic.
I noticed more physical and mental energy to get things done.
My mind was clear and what seemed before like despairingly insurmountable obstacles became small and petty.
I felt laser focused and it seemed like ideas and people all came out of the woodwork to help me accomplish my objectives.
I could almost sense that there was an unseen power arranging my path before me to lead me ultimately to victory.
Have you ever felt like this before?
There have been multiple times in my life that I have felt this way.
I have also felt the weight of despair, depression, fatigue, Low energy, and pessimism.
Take a moment and think about where you find yourself today.
If you think hard about it at all, you will know exactly why you feel the way you do.
I only feel energized when I have a plan that is aligned with my values and is leading me toward who I want to be.
Anytime I am doing anything for any reason that does not square with who I am, I feel those negative feelings creep in stifling my happiness and well-being.
This carries over into every part of life.
I have been in relationships and single and been both happy and unhappy because I either was living in my values or not.
I have had jobs where I felt fulfilled and unfulfilled depending on what I was working toward in my life.
The commonalities that keeps resurfacing for me when I feel like I’m headed in the right direction are growth, learning, and a plan.
Growth and learning are imperative to feeling fulfilled.
The problem is that growth is at times excruciating and uncomfortable.
I personally find comfort easier than growth.
However, comfort keeps me stagnant and I find myself drifting along aimlessly.
The real step to take is becoming averse to comfort.
It is much easier for me to sit on my couch and watch The Mandalorian than to go do squats and deadlifts at the gym.
It is much easier to spend my money on nice clothes and food than put it toward a great investment or moving my business further.
It is much easier to spend my time playing video games than learning new skills or writing blog posts.
I will say it again:
GET AVERSE TO COMFORT
but only if you want to feel fulfilled
only if you want that clarity, optimism, purpose, and energy.
Secondly, you need a plan.
I’m not going to tell you all the steps to put a plan together.
There are countless resources to help you with that.
However, have one and put it on paper.
A plan is just the steps that layout how to get from where you are now, to where you want to be.
Break it down to what you are going to do everyday.
Also, make the plan your own.
It doesn’t matter what the plan is, as long as it carries you from point A to Z by being consistent with the steps.
If it’s just investing money every week to become a millionaire, or running ads on Facebook or Google to build your internet business, figure out what the amount of money, work, or time is and do that every single day.
You may have to adjust if things shift or if your calculations are wrong, but do that instead of going back to comfort.
It’s harder than comfort.
In fact, moments of real growth are usually super f*cking painful.
But in the end, I feel fulfilled, I am closer to my goal, and I am more the person I desire to become.
My goal is freedom of time.
I want to wake up every morning and know that it doesn’t really matter what I decide to do that day, all my financial obligations are taken care of.
I’m not there yet and that doesn’t mean I just want to become idle.
I have plans to help kids and youth realize their worth and power at young ages so they can experience success in their own lives at whatever they endeavor.
Even today, I am working toward that with a plan and doing things that are hard and uncomfortable.
I don’t say this to say I am some superhero or special.
I know this works and so that’s what I am doing because there’s a journey and result I am after.
The best part is that I feel great.
I know I’m going the right direction because I get fulfillment from even the most mundane tasks and routines that are helping me to get there.
Some days I don’t do everything I said I would and in those moments, I look at why and hopefully learn something about myself.
At that point, I am kind to myself (hopefully) and look at what I need to do next.
I hope you found this helpful in your journey.
Thank you for reading.
