Imagine with me for a second that you have an idea for a creative fashion product.
You work on it and create something fairly simple with a very small investment of materials and time.
You kind of pass the product around with friends and family and realize that people are happy to pay you money for it.
You make a few more and start seeing more and more demand and it hits you that what you are making could be a nice little side business.
You figure out a way to start scaling production so that you can keep the quality, but also fulfill demand.
Time passes and after a couple years, you are making more money from your “small side hustle” than you are at your regular 9-5 and it takes less time to run the business.
You have a few hiccups with production and people, but by staying solution-oriented you work through them and learn some valuable lesson,
Soon, it’s bringing in multiple six figures and you quit your job and start living life on your own terms and schedule.
The best part is that you love your business because it’s what you love doing.
Now, imagine that you are only 16 years old and obviously only most of this story could be true (full time job is obviously not).
Moziah Bridges started creating bowties when he was 9 years old.
He liked dressing up to go to school, but he hated the styles of bowties in the market.
So, he started making his own with his mother’s help and his grandmother who was a retired seamstress.
He first began trading them for rocks and other things at the playground, but then created an entire business out of it.
Since then, Mo’s Bows has sold more than $600,000 worth of merchandise.
Obviously, Mo’s mother is running the business, but Mo does all the designs.
He has written a book to help young people create successful start-ups.
He is also a public speaker collecting $2,500 minimum for speaking engagements.
So, what does this make you think?
This is a young kid that solved his own problem and just kept going on something he enjoyed.
That’s it!!!
What is holding you back?
There’s some success principles and concepts here in this short story that I want to point out to you.
First, bowties are NOT a new idea.
It’s something that’s been around since the 1600’s (yeah they are old AF).
Mo just added his own style to it.
Second, Mo went to supportive people in his life for the help he needed.
His mom helped him make his first one and his grandma had the expertise in what he needed.
Find experts in the field you want to be working in to get help.
Pay them if you need to for work, time, or advice.
Third, Mo used his talents, strengths, and interests to build a company he loved.
I had a conversation once with a mentor and I asked him a question about how I would know if I was on the path to my life’s purpose.
His answer confused me at first, but after a lot of thought, it made so much more sense.
He said, “what do you love to do?”
He told me how one of his employees loves making facebook ads.
He wakes up early and creates ads because he absolutely loves it.
He then said, “Whatever you love, do that.”
What do you love to do?
It doesn’t matter what it is, there is a way to make money doing it.
There are skills that may have to be learned or paid for in order to make it work, but every interest has a market in one way or another.
Many of them are written about on this website.
To make this painfully clear, most of the top Youtube sites making 8 figure salaries are either gamers or kids playing with toys.
Just let that sink in and try not to let your brain explode.
I blame my mother for making me go to bed when I wanted to play “The Legend of Zelda” until 4 in the morning on school nights.
If you have something you are excited or enthusiastic about, it will become contagious.
It’s going to take some work, late nights, heartbreak, and who knows what else in the journey, but if you are committed to success, then nothing will be able to stop you.
You will definitely have to learn some new skills along the way.
The more highly sought after and highly paid-for-skills you can master, the easier it will be for you to get where you want to go.
Don’t be afraid to walk out into fog that lies just outside your comfort zone.
That is the only way to effect true change.
But also remember, the story of Mo and his bowties.
It could all be so simple.
If you would like to learn how to make money online, then see my #1 recommendation.
It is the same program I used to create an income online working part time that allowed me to quit my full-time job.
It is the same program I would use today if I had to start all over again with no experience.
Thank you for reading.
