The Reason People Struggle With Facebook Ads
There are 2 main reasons.
The first is that Facebook is very particular at what they allow you to put in front of their users.
Imagine that every Facebook user is like one of its kids.
They don’t want you to have free reign to show them any and everything.
Facebook has a mess load of rules you have to follow or it will not approve your ads
and you could potentially have your account banned (you do not want this, believe me).
Therefore, you need to study their policies before placing any ads so you are clear on what they don’t want you to say.
DO NOT IGNORE THAT LAST STATEMENT,
IT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF TIME AND POSSIBLY YOUR AD ACCOUNT
The 2nd reason that people struggle with Facebook ads is that they treat it like a bad gambler at a roulette table.
They make one ad, they put all of their money into it and it either works or doesn’t (it usually doesn’t).
Then they don’t know what to do after that.
Even if they test different ads and audiences,
it’s typically very haphazard and doesn’t use any real strategy in order to get you to a winning ad.

Ok, So here’s what you do
You are going to systematically test the creative (picture or video), the ad copy (the writing in the ad), the audience, and the headline.
You can do this quickly if you follow the method I’m about to show you.
This is the 4×4 or 3×5 method (it really doesn’t matter which one you pick).
Start by running one campaign and either 4 ad sets with 4 ads, or 3 ad sets with 5 ads.
Inside the ad set you are going to pick who you are targeting.
Obviously, these should be people interested in your product or service.
Each ad set is going to have a different audience.
Therefore, you need to decide on 3 or 4 different audiences.
Make sure that there are a few million people in each one.
Next, each ad set will have 4 or 5 ads depending on which method you picked.
For the first week, you will be testing the creative.
That means you will have 4 or 5 pictures or videos to test.
Do not run pictures against videos in this beginning stage.
Picture ads cost less to run than videos, so your numbers won’t be right.
Run 4 or 5 different ads in each ad set with your 4 or 5 different creatives.
Basically you are testing each creative in each audience.
Now, in order to get the data you need, run at least $10 per day in each ad set.
If you don’t have the budget, do $5 but realize it might take longer to get the data you need.
After 4-5 days, turn off the 2 losers in each ad set and let it run 3-4 more days.
Figure out the winning creatives based on number of leads and lead costs.
Next, do the same thing with the winning creatives and then test headlines.
That means 3-4 ad sets with the audiences you used before and 4-5 different headlines.
Then test the body copy.
Then, test the audiences after you get those winners.
Each test should take about a week or so.
Every time you test beyond this, make sure you have at least 2 ads in each ad set,
because Facebook will always pick a favorite that works better.
Once you get to this point, you should have an ad that works pretty well.
Keep testing it against other variables.
Just remember to only change one variable each time so that you know why it performed better or worse.
Once you get an ad to the point it’s converting at the level you want, then you can scale it and spend more money.
However, never stop testing.
Extra Tips and Tricks:
Make sure you have good records of all the ad components you have used.
Then, you know what you’ve tried and you can keep track of what works and what doesn’t.
Learn how to install and use the Facebook pixel so that Facebook can learn who your ideal prospects are.
Eventually the AI will know and this will save you money and help you more in the long run.
