This is not a review for another “make money online” opportunity today.
This is also not a motivational post to get anyone to take action.
I wanted to get real candid about what it is like to start, build, and live what people are calling the “laptop lifestyle”.
Let me start by saying that I had a painful experience with my former employer where after being the company’s top producer in revenue for the previous year, I was berated in front of the entire company for my attitude and production.
I was devastated as this had come after over a year of being on call and putting in 60-70 hours every week at that same job.
I realized shortly after that moment, that it was time for me to do something for myself.
If I was going to give someone my life and not at least be appreciated on some level, then I didn’t belong there.
I searched the internet for some time and looked at several opportunities to start franchises, vending machine companies, tax preparation companies, etc.
None of these fully spoke to me because what I wanted to do was free up some of my time and continue or improve my income.
I was looking at online jobs and suddenly came across the offer that is my #1 Recommendation.

I was intrigued and I went through the process of learning about it.
At the end of my research, I decided that I would go for it and I jumped in completely.
What I didn’t realize was how much information there was to absorb and it was all foreign to me.
I felt overwhelmed and started to go through it, but what I quickly realized was that most of it was simple to execute and each step led to the next almost intuitively.
I had a few hangups, but spending more time on figuring that out and asking for help on a couple spots got me through those moments.
The point is, I didn’t give up when something didn’t make sense and I couldn’t immediately see the answer.
Before I knew it, I was marketing online.
Most of what I had started was pretty basic and ugly, but it did work… kind of.
As I continued to learn, I made my ads and sales funnels better and better until they started getting consistent leads.
In only a few weeks, but what seemed like an eternity of waiting, I began getting sales.
Over time that has just slowly gotten better and better.
I can say it has not been totally linear.
The successes seem to come in spurts and I don’t know why that is.
I was able to quit my job after a few months and although it was scary, I learned along the way that I will figure things out and make it work somehow.
However, I am still learning, growing, and striving to reach my goals.
I spend a few hours each week building my online marketing business, however it consumes my thoughts most of the day.
I feel inspired and driven to think constantly of new and creative ways to help people and make it bigger and better.
To get where I am at, I have on several occasions given up taking vacations, going to barbecues and parties, not purchased things that I wanted, and skipped out even on family events and gatherings.
It was not easy, sexy, or fun in many instances.
However, consistency over time has been the true catalyst for my success.
I only say this to be completely open about what it has really been like for me.
As I’ve progressed, my vision and purpose has expanded and although I still want to make great money, I have other goals that I want to accomplish to help people realize their own greatness.
That is going to take more time and a lot of work and I’m truly excited about what is to come.
I put a few tips here that really made a difference for me:
- Take Action — Even stumbling, ugly, action is better than doing nothing.
You only learn from doing it and then seeing what or how to do it better.
2. You can figure it out — You really do have everything inside of you to figure out how to make something work.
You can get help with what you need and you are stronger and smarter than you may think.
Also, most of what I worried about either never happened or wasn’t really that bad.
3. Consistency is your best friend — The Grand Canyon was formed by a stream of water doing the same thing over and over
and over again.
Fortunately for you, it won’t take nearly that long, but a small task completed daily will eventually get giant results (it’s always long after you thought it should have been working).
Just remember that a harvest comes only after a season of growth.
It’s not the day after the seed is planted.
Also, there are other rewards along the way that are very valuable before you see the money.
For me those rewards were:
Improved relationships with the people that truly matter to me,
New relationships with amazing people I never would have met otherwise,
A new sense of self-worth and confidence in my own abilities,
Vast new knowledge and skill in many many subjects,
And a true knowledge of my own strengths and weaknesses.
Although it has not been easy, I feel blessed and would not trade it for the alternative.
Follow your dreams.
Thank you for reading.
