Do you want to know a secret to finding happiness and profit in your online business?
The word is purpose.
I’m going to talk about how purpose is going to help you.
It’s going to transform your business and your life.
Now, before we get into that, let’s define what purpose is and isn’t.
Finding your Purpose:
The two greatest days of your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why – Mark Twain
I used to get extremely frustrated because I didn’t know what my purpose on earth was.
I would sit and wonder about it and stress over it.
Why did God give me this life and such strong desires to do great things and then not tell me what it was?
I had to realize that for most of us, we aren’t going to find that thing by sitting around thinking about it.
You have to do something.
I asked a mentor once, how he found his purpose and his answer surprised me.
He said, “Just do what you like.”
I was mad at first and felt like he didn’t understand what I was asking, but after some time, I realized he was exactly right.
At the time I was working at a job I was pretty good at, but hated.
I was getting into online marketing and was still learning a lot.
But I realized that there were things and parts about it that I didn’t like and others that I really enjoyed.
One of them is writing which is why I still do it today.
I was never going to find purpose by sitting around thinking about it.
I know that I love fishing, writing, marketing, cooking and traveling because I have done them.
You will only learn if you like something, by giving it a shot and trying it out.
You will likely enjoy a lot of different types of professions by putting time into learning them and doing the work.
Try some things out and don’t worry if you haven’t found your purpose yet.
You have to serve people.
Here’s the real difference between successful entrepreneurs and the ones who seem to get stuck.
What are you doing to serve.
All money is made in the economy giving a benefit to someone else.
Your product or service has to give enough benefit to the person you are serving for them to part with their hard-earned money.
This sounds simple, but it really is not complicated.
If someone pays you to serve a meal, the expectation is that the meal is worth what was paid.
Otherwise, they won’t eat there again.
If you are only looking at your business as how much money you are going to make, it won’t ever be what it could be.
Look at people and how to solve their problems.
Success is not in hacks or algorithm tricks.
It’s in making your client’s life better in some way.
The Crossroads:
The Japanese use the word Ikagai to describe purpose and fulfillment.
It’s a term to describe where four concepts come together:
1. What you are good at
2. What you love to do
3. What the world needs
4. What you can be paid for
This is a valuable way to look at using purpose to find fulfillment, happiness and wealth.
Imagine if you loved what you did, and you were good at it, the world needed it, and it paid well.
How do you think your life would look?
While I think that chasing happiness is a fool’s errand, fulfillment is definitely possible in your work.
Ok , but I still don’t know my purpose.
Here’s the blueprint:
Take an inventory of each of the 4 things in the Ikagai model.

Every entrepreneur I know that is wealthy and fulfilled is working toward something.
It’s not an income goal alone.
They all have something that is bigger than that.

It’s easy to work when you are working toward something.
It could be a charity or legacy or whatever really drives you.
Figure out what that is and you will jump out of bed in the morning excited about what you do.
